I am starting to sell off a large portion of my historic Native American collection, so be sure to check out my other auctions. Offered is a very rare Arapaho Morning Star amulet, ca. 1880. It measures 18" overall and is made from rawhide, pigment and feathers. Collected by Alfred Kroeber. A virtually identical example, also collected by Kroeber, is in the American Museum of Natural History (see last image). In Alfred Kroeber's report on the Arapaho, he draws a virtually identical example (see picture) to the piece I am offering at auction. This is a very rare piece, hence the starting amount.
