    Antique
Sioux (Lakota) Buffalo Parfleche Flat Case from circa 1860s-1870s.
This classic Sioux flat case is made from buffalo rawhide and seems to have been cut/recycled from a parfleche envelope.
The flat case is sewn with sinew and has painted decorations, that have mostly worn off from use and age.
Parfleche cases this old are a rare find, as many parfleche cases wore out at some point or ended up as moccasin soles, knife sheaths or ropes.
The size of the flat case is circa 14" x 10".
