    Description

    Antique mid to late 1800’s Sioux painted (Native American/Plains Indian) Parfleche envelope form container., constructed of rawhide and intricately painted in an abstract design with hourglass and geometric motifs with natural pigments and green trade cloth. At the time this was created, the Sioux Indians were nomadic and roamed vast areas of the Great Plains of the United States including present day North and South Dakota, Minnesota, Nebraska and Montana.
    Measures approximately 12.5” x 18” (including trade cloth)
    Condition: Good overall, intact. Shows some discolored fading and light stain commensurate with it’s age and use.,
    missing one leather stitch along left edge as shown (SEE PICS)
